A father sculpts his child’s impression of God. The values and choices a father makes leave enduring consequences on sons and daughters. A dad’s power to give approval can be a blessing, but the absence of an affirming father is often a curse. In the US, more than 20 million children—nearly one in three—are fatherless, according to the latest Census Bureau statistics. Countless studies have shown a father’s complete absence in a child’s life often produces a lifelong quest for approval that is never fulfilled.
