Suicide, or the act of taking one’s own life, is a heavy topic for many people to discuss. The purpose of this post is to inform about suicide and measures taken to prevent it, to assist those struggling with suicidal thoughts, and to support those struggling with the loss of a loved one. I will post resources for all of this at the bottom of the page.

Metanoia posted a statement about suicide on Suicide: Read This First:

“Suicide is not chosen; it happens
when pain exceeds
resources for coping with pain.”

I remember reading this passage when I felt suicidal and it helped me. Those who struggle with suicidal thoughts or suicide are not crazy or flawed.
